It is the day after Ash Wednesday , I have been thinking about this Thankfulness blog for weeks now and finally am taking the plunge. The idea is to really really think about how many things are wonderful in our daily lives. I find it very easy to muse on about the colorful and many times inopportune challenges that come my way. Being a leader in our children's and youth programs led me to think about things in a different way. I could not very well preach about talking to God and letting Him know how much I appreciated His works if I did not do this regularly myself. Yes I say 'thanks' all the time but do I really take account of all the ways He makes Himself known in my life. I don't think I have. So today is the first day of a fresh start.... one where I will acknowledge God and all His Wonderful works.Today:
- many people helped me to get to a meeting that was difficult to schedule.
- more people came to the meeting than were supposed to- yea!
- the meeting went well and i did not 'blow my top'
- it was not icy when i started my car
- the wheel of my car did not fall off despite screeching and grinding sounds
- my friend had good news about her possible health crisis
- my dinner was really good
- Canada won another gold medal- yea!
- i was able to read scripture for the day
- i laughed quite a few times despite a stressful day
- the weather was mild this afternoon and it was nice enough to enjoy being outside
- i could have gone out this evening but did not have to -yea laying on the couch time!
- my friends made me feel important to them
I could go on but really the important thing is that I know that none of this is possible without God.
Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
